Downtown Farmington
Founders Festival Parade Float
July 16, 2005
Another great parade in Downtown Farmington. The parade began
with a light sprinkling which soon ended. Some, participants near
the end of the parade got drenched during a downpour. That just
adds to the memory.
The Farmington Downtown Development Authority's Downtown Farmington
float received the Farmington Area Founders Festival Grand Marshal
Trophy acknowledging the float with best use of theme.
The float was groovin' to the '60s with Petula Clark singing her
smash hit, "Downtown". Along for the ride were Pet's
dancing backup singers, a Farmington Public Safety Department
dispatcher, hippies, a mod girl and everyone's favorite,
Austin Powers. Austin was playin' it up with the
parade-goers.
Yeah, baby. Yeah!
