Tonight, you’ll find that all bluegrass is not the same.  This group brings bluegrass to the next level – mixing the soulful lead vocals of Nick Lucassian with Motown, Rock and Country.  It’s hard to describe, but everyone will love what Catfish Mafia produces.

This talented quintet combines the driving sounds of the guitar, mandolin, upright bass, banjo and fiddle to create a sound that’s truly unique.  You’ll become a fan.

The Luddites

This unique, 11-piece ensemble considers itself the loudest acoustic band in the world – a bit peasant and a bit punk.  The Luddites blends sounds and styles to create an orchestra of sorts with lots of energy.  The members have a great time playing from an arsenal of non-electronic instruments.

The Luddites has won seven Detroit Music Awards and continues to entertain audiences with big, bombastic fun.  What is a Luddite?  Come to the concert and find out.

August 20
Bones Maki & The Treble-Aires

A cookin’ Americana combo!  Four fellas who dig into the deepest depths of this country’s rockabilly, blues, and western music heritage to unearth and revive the grooviest tunes, as well as deliver original songs that are just as punchy as the favorites.

Grounded in western swing and rockabilly music, Craig “Bones” Maki sings, plays, and writes tunes reminiscent of sounds from the 1950’s.

August 27
Hullabaloo

This Ann Arbor band wows crowds with its concerts and mostly original songs.  The energetic horn section is the foundation for the high-energy mix of ska, funk and jazz.  The stage comes alive when Hullabaloo performs.

Self-described as semi-chaotic, this 11-member band lives up to its billing.  Hullabaloo’s sound is infectious and is a fitting finale for the 2010 season of Rhythmz in Riley Park.
